Greg Skelton

About Me

Mr. Skelton’s strong belief that all students can be successful is at the heart of his teaching. Greg has completed two bachelor degrees: a BSc and a BEd, both majoring in Mathematics, and minoring in Physics. His passion for life and learning has led him to continuously enhance his professional and personal growth.

Raised in Southern Alberta, Greg excelled in sports, especially football, wrestling, gymnastics, and swimming. He also enjoyed: woodworking, electronics, automotives, technology, astronomy, scouting, and the outdoors. Over the years, many of his awards and recognition include: The Bronze Cross and Bronze Medallion from the Royal Life Saving Society of Canada, a Silver medal in Provincial Wrestling Championships, the Joe Collage Award, and earning his Chief Scout and Queen Venture Awards. In addition to teaching, his creative and entrepreneurial spirit led him to own and operate 2 restaurants for several years in Lethbridge. This summer he was involved as a leader for the FACES education program (Livingstone Range School District) and felt blessed to be part of such a life-changing program.

Married, with four children, his family enjoys getting into the outdoors to hike and camp. As an adventure for a recent anniversary, he and his wife completed backpacking the West Coast Trail.

An important aspect of Greg’s balance and happiness in life comes through his service and volunteer efforts. Whether he’s volunteering as a wrestling coach, Scout leader, at a school function, or in his church, Greg always exhibits a contagious smile and positive attitude, going the 2nd mile to ensure he’s made someone’s day a little brighter.
